Pastor - Steve Ellis
Steve began his ministry at Parkway in June of 1999. He
holds a Master of Divinity degree in Theology from the Southern Baptist
Theological Seminary in Louisville along with a Bachelors of Science degree from
Cumberland College in Williamsburg, and is currently working toward a Doctor of
Ministry degree at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston, Massachusetts.
Minister of Music - "Mo" Smither
Maurice Ray "Mo" Smither joined the staff at Parkway in January of 2002. A native of Owenton, Kentucky, Mo earned his BBA degree in accounting from Eastern Kentucky University and has spent the last twenty years of his business career working for various financial institutions in the southern and central parts of the state. Ordained as a deacon at First Baptist in Owenton, Mo has also served as a deacon while a member of First Baptist, Williamsburg and Versailles Baptist. He has also been a very active member in each of these churches and has provided substitute music ministry work with each one. Mo is also a former two-year member of the Lexington Singers where he participated in annual performances of Handel's "Messiah" as well as several other chorus concerts that the Singers performed. Having a wide range of music appreciation, church choral and Christian music has and always will be his prime interest. Mo is married to the former Norma Estes, also of Owenton and they are proud parents of two sons: Brandon and Aaron.
Church Accompanist - Rob Wagoner
The very talented Rob Wagoner joined the Parkway family in July of 2001. A Harrison, Kentucky native, Rob holds an Associate degree in Accounting from the University of Kentucky and a Surgical Nursing Degree from Northern Kentucky University. Among his many musical accomplishments, he has served as Music Director for the Corinth Christian Church in Sadieville, Organist for the First United Methodist Church in Cynthiana, and has toured with the Southern Gospel Group, the Nobleman. In recent days Rob has toured, recorded, and appeared on video releases with the nationally known group, the Nelons and in the Bill Gaither Homecoming Series. His musical prowess has also earned him invitations to perform for the Governors of the Commonwealth on several occasions. Rob is single and in November of 2002 was elected as Mayor of his hometown of Sadieville.
Minister of Youth - Marc McLean
Marc McLean joined the Parkway family in December of 2002. He arrives from Providence Baptist Church in Frankfort, Kentucky where he has recently finished an interim as youth minister. Marc was previously the drummer for the Southern Gospel group Willing Heart. He traveled with that group for about seven years in churches and concert locations across four states. He also worked this past year with 180 Degree ministries. Marc is single, and is currently employed with the Franklin County Property Valuation Administration Office as a GIS Specialist. He lives in Frankfort and attended Shelby County High School and Kentucky State University. Talented, affable, with a great sense of humor and a unmistakable love for the Lord. We are expecting great things ahead in his ministry with the Youth here.
