 | In 1999 our Children's Department adopted the "Operation
Christmas Child" shoebox project for Christmas. In conjunction with the
Samaritan's Purse organization, over 150 shoeboxes, stuffed with Bibles,
gifts and personal items, were shipped to children in such war torn and
impoverished countries as Bosnia, Croatia, Romania, Russia, Kenya, Jordan
and Thailand.

Our Young Adult and Youth classes entered a float in
Lexington's 1999 Christmas parade duly named "On The Road To
Bethlehem" to serve as a city-wide invitation to Drive
Thru "Bethlehem Revisited."

Our first annual Drive-Through "Bethlehem Revisited"
in 1999 attracted over 900 guests to an outdoor recreation of the first Christmas
and underscored the true meaning of the season.
